Calling all admin professionals - an exciting opportunity to join Cardiff Council's central Communications and Media Team has become available.

The Design Assistant will be responsible for delivering admin support to the design, marketing and communications team.

We’re looking for a well-organised individual who can soak up admin work, while looking to develop marketing and communications skills. You will be expected to think on your feet and have a flexible approach to working.

The successful candidate will play an active role in the central communications team helping deliver key projects, events and communications campaigns which support the Council’s Capital Ambition priorities. So while this permanent position is admin focused you will also have the opportunity to develop a communications and media portfolio.

The job involves creating and managing content for social media platforms and internal staff communications so you’ll need to be a confident writer and have a good understanding of the digital platforms which currently dominate the communications agenda. You will also carry out fact checking and help with the delivery of PR and marketing campaigns for a wide range of council directorates. 

You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, environment, and have a responsive and flexible approach to working.

Previous administrative experience is required and you must be capable of working to deadlines. Experience of managing and raising purchase orders and invoices is essential for this post. Experience of working with SAP and Office 365 will be an advantage.

Being able to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
