This vacancy is only available to employees of Cardiff Council including Cardiffworks and Agency Workers currently engaged with the Council.

A unique opportunity has arisen within Human Resource People Services (HRPS) for a full time (37 hours per week) Administrative Support Officer for Cardiff Council’s Occupational Health Unit.  The unit is currently based at Nant Garw, but will be relocated to new premises during the summer of 2019; the location has yet to be determined. 

Reporting to the Occupational Health Nurse Manager, the purpose of the role is to assist in managing and improving the Occupational Health administrative provision, ensuring quality of service delivery and raising standards. 

The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring the occupational health accounts and recharges are maintained, as outlined in the Council’s Service Level Agreement and be responsible for the preparation of management information and performance indicators.  It is therefore essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate a good level of numeracy, proven organisational skills and logical approach to tasks.

You will have responsibility for ensuring that medical confidentiality is adhered to at all times and that medical records are correctly stored in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Guidelines. 

You will be a skilled administrator with experience of working in a busy office environment.  You will have experience of managing high volumes of work and have the ability to work without supervision. You will be competent in use of IT, including Microsoft Packages and have experience in the use of databases.
You will manage a team of part-time administrators and will interact with a variety of colleagues within the Occupational Health Unit, and visitors.
