This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £8.75 per hour (scp 6 – 10 only). This supplement will be reviewed in April 2019 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
Flying Start is a Welsh Government initiative aimed at making a decisive difference to the life chances of children under 4 years in identified areas of Cardiff.
These posts will support the delivery of crèche provision for Flying Start Parenting, Nutrition and Speech and Language groups in various community venues in identified Flying Start areas.
Successful candidates will contribute to the planning of suitable activities and welcoming environments to engage children in play; providing stimulating activities that are age and stage appropriate and demonstrating warmth and empathy with those experiencing separation anxiety.
Candidates will develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and monitor and evaluate sessions to both support children's development and make improvements to meet the needs of service users.
These posts require a full valid driving license and access to own car in order to travel flexibly to sessions delivered in community venues across Cardiff. The ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable.
