An opportunity has arisen to join the National Adoption Service for Wales’ in the leadership role for the new Adoption Register for Wales.
This is an exciting time for the Register as it launches its new bilingual on- line Service operated by Link Maker and providing managed access for adopters.
Fully funded by the Welsh Government, the Adoption Register for Wales has been managed by the National Adoption Service since September 2015. The Register provides pan Wales linking and matching services for Welsh children with a plan for adoption. It does this through an on-line linking service and hosting family finding events for Welsh regional adoption services and voluntary adoption agencies, reaching out to other parts of the UK for matches, including through their Registers, where that is appropriate.
The Adoption Register Wales - Practitioner Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the on-line register, other family finding activities and reporting as well as informing the strategic development of adoption services across Wales. The successful candidate will join us in the early days of the new on-line service and have a role in embedding best practice for this arrangement as well as maintaining other services such as Exchange and Activity days.
You will have knowledge, skills and experience of working within the area of permanency planning and adoption, the ability to think innovatively and provide leadership in promoting best practice. Joining the small central co-ordinating team of the National Adoption Service you will work to the NAS Policy and Practice Officer and closely with colleagues to oversee the budget and the Register support team as well as contribute to the broader developmental agenda.
If you would like further information about this exciting opportunity please contact Suzanne Griffiths Director of the National Adoption Service for Wales for further information.
